One of the world’s most prestigious exhibitions of photojournalism is currently calling the State Library of NSW its home. The World Press Photo exhibition showcases astonishing and though-provoking images within nine themed categories covering a spectrum from contemporary issues to portraiture.

This exhibition and its beautifully captured snippets of life will be in Sydney until the 28th July, before continuing on a tour that will see it visit over 100 cities in 45 countries.

To give you a taste of the creative talent that is on show, we’ve pulled together some of our favourites from the 54 photographs featured in this year’s exhibition.
