A teenage girl with flame-red hair is making her way home along the village bypass. Moments later her mother discovers her raiding the fridge. “The weirdest thing happened to me,” says the girl. Her mother just stares. Her daughter, Camille, was killed in a bus accident four years earlier. Camille has returned home.

In a small mountain town, people who have died begin to reappear – alive, normal and believing it to still be the same day as their death. A family is shocked when their daughter Camille returns home, four years after dying in a bus crash.

Camille is unable to fit back into her family again. Adele struggles with the reappearance of her ex-fiancé, Simon, while the dam level begins to mysteriously drop. Strange happenings seem to suggest that Camille and Simon may not be the only ones to have been brought back.

Camille attempts to start her life afresh by pretending to be her twin’s cousin “Alice”, while Adele realises that Simon may not be a vision after all. Mademoiselle Payet is put in danger when she threatens Julie about “adopting” Victor.

When Victor is taken to a shelter, he realises one of the men who runs it is the same burglar who shot and killed him 30 years ago. Lena suffers from an inexplicable wound while the dam level continues to mysteriously fall.

Victor and Madame Costa discuss their experiences as ‘Revenants’, while Adele is devastated to learn that Simon died by killing himself. Lena makes a mysterious discovery in the middle of the forest.

Pierre stockpiles weapons and food, believing the ‘revenants’ are a sign of the apocalypse. Julie attempts to leave town with Victor, but realises the road is going in loops over the dam and she is trapped.

More and more ‘revenants’ appear, and attempt to gather Victor and the others. Simon breaks out of jail and kidnaps his daughter, while Victor makes a startling discovery about Toni and uses dangerous powers on him.
