Australian Television Premiere: Sunday 25 December, 8.30pm
Grammy Award-winning crooner Harry Connick, Jr takes the stage at New York’s Neil Simon Theatre in his first Broadway concert appearance in two decades.
Filmed over two nights in July 2010, this concert presents 42-year-old Connick, Jr. at his most enthralling. He brings an eternally youthful energy to his 15-day sold-out Broadway run, yet the New Orleans native also commands a rare stage presence with accompanying swing band, string section and grand piano.
In the first act, Connick Jr. sticks to his old favourites, singing The Way You Look Tonight and All of Me, building to a show-stopping rendition of It Had to be You. He lets his hair down in the second act for a musical Mardi Gras that features joyful jam sessions with jazz royalty.
