In her first solo exhibition in Australia, award-winning Italian artist Grazia Toderi has created digital visions of mesmerising cityscapes on film.
Grazia has always been fascinated by the use of images taken from preexisting shots and the dynamics of spectacle, which she understands as “an occasion for encounter and coming together”. Toderi’s focus is largely on images of stadiums, arenas and massive historical theaters.
Using a unique process of layering drawings, photographs and maps Grazia’s works are equally enthralling as they are unsettling.
Grazia Toderi’s work is showing at the John Curtin Gallery from the 5th of February to Sunday April 14th.
