Opera on Sydney Harbour: La Traviata

Posted in Home > Arts News > Opera on Sydney Harbour: La Traviata

Performed on a shimmering stage with one of the world’s most iconic cities as a backdrop, Opera on Sydney Harbour: La Traviata will take your breath away.

The set was built specifically for this Australian production of Verdi’s La Traviata and included a 9 metre chandelier encrusted with Swarovski Elements crystals. Topped off with dazzling lighting, a view of the Opera House and Sydney Harbour bridge, fireworks, extravagant costumes and of course incredible talent and music, the production has become one of Opera Australia’s finest achievements.

STUDIO sat down with set designer Brian Thomson to see how this magnificent production was brought to life on Sydney Harbour.

If you missed out on tickets, or want to re-live this breath-taking show, STUDIO PRESENTS Handa Opera on Sydney Harbour on Monday 30 April at 8.40pm.
